In episode 7, Rosie and Jessica devote the whole show to Guiding, following Jessica’s Queen’s Guide presentation and their County Camp last weekend. Jessica gets us caught up on her Week of Fun, Top 5s takes an educational turn and Needle and Fed concentrates on the ongoing camp blanket project. Less worthy service resumes next episode.
You can listen to it on Mixcloud, on iTunes or online here:
This week’s songs:
Jessica picked ‘Pink‘ by Aerosmith. Warning: contains Steve Tyler.
Rosie’s choice was from one of her favourite songwriters, with ‘Jericho‘ by Mr. Rufus Wainwright. The new album, Out of the Game, comes with the Day of Fun stamp of approval.
Jessica’s Week of Fun took in the National Trust property Carlyle’s House, some delicious vegan cupcakes and marshmallows from Ms. Cupcake in Brixton and the roller derby run by the London Rollergirls.
Guiding
There’s lots of information about Guiding and how to get involved on the Girlguiding UK website and the WAGGGS website.
For more information on what it takes to become a Queen’s Guide, there’s a page on the Senior Section website.
Needle and Fed
Rosie has cast on and knitted 14 cm of this jumper. It is quite unseasonable but very orange, so should be perfect for autumn.
Rosie and Jessica both consider their camp blankets works-in-progress, but here they are in their current states:

Auteur and trendy director-man Wes Anderson‘s new film Moonrise Kingdom has a mixtape on 8tracks with music from and inspired by the film.
Beautiful camp blankets. Can you give a description of them? Dimensions? Are they two layers? Material? Blanket stitch around the edge? I like how you have done them and would like to replicate for my daughter. Tia
